Step 1 – Breeding tank selection
Make sure your tank is at least more than 20 gallons. You will have to clean the tank using Formaldehyde, Copper Sulphate, and Terramycin. This ensures the fish’s health and also sets the ground for breeding. The tank should also contain some bushy plants.
Step 2 – Set water temperature
You need to replicate the natural environment of the goldfish in order for it to breed. They prefer a colder temperature between 50 to 54 degrees Fahrenheit or 10 to 12 degrees centigrade.
Step 3 – Selection of fish
Select well grown goldfishes, at least two males and three females.
Step 4 – Induce the desire
Separate the male and female using a divider inside the tank so that the desire to breed increases.
Step 5 – Feed them proteins
Feed the fishes with protein rich food to trigger the breeding process.
Step 6 – Reintroduce
Reintroduce the fishes together. Keep the pair that breeds in the breeding tank.
Step 7 – Increase water temperature
Increase the temperature until it reaches 74 degrees Fahrenheit or 23 degrees celsius. Do a 20% water change every day. Add water conditioners to neutralize the harmful chemicals.
Step 8 – Spawning mat placement
Introduce a spawning mop so that the females can lay their eggs on this spawning mop and then the male goldfish will release the sperms over the eggs.
Step 9 – Remove the parents
Separate the breeders from the eggs otherwise the parents will eat the eggs.
Result

After few days the eggs will hatch and frys will start swimming. Feed them with a healthy diet that they can feed on and grow into adult fishes.
