Java Moss is not a demanding plant and it is not very difficult to grow them in your aquarium. All you need to do is plant Java moss right and give them at least the minimum care. Below listed are the step by step process of growing java moss in your aquarium.

Step 1 – Choose the ideal tank
Pick up a tank which is more than 20 gallon as the moss would require this kind space to grow.
Step 2 – Choose the method to grow
There are different ways in which you can grow java moss in your tank. Drop it and allow it to float but make sure it does not get caught in the filter or you can attach it to the driftwood by using a dark thread or a fish line. Last but not least option is to attach the moss between two pieces of mesh. Do not move the moss after you place it.
Step 3 – Ideal water condition
On picking one of the method mentioned above, the crucial step is to give the moss the right water conditions – Maintain the water temperature between 21 C and 24 C, pH level between 5 and 8.
Use a chiller if you are living in a tropical country or add a fan to decrease the water temperature. Use a pH kit to measure the water pH level.
Step 4 – Proper lighting
If you want your Java moss to grow densely and quickly, give it adequate lighting (7 to 8 hrs. of light per day).
Introduce algae eaters as they would help control the algae. Algae would cause due to high & longer lighting period.
Step 5 – Care and Trimming
Trim the java moss whenever necessary, make sure you cut the parts of the moss if you find algae growing in it.

In 3 to 5 weeks you would clearly see visible growth of your java moss. Use a siphon to frequently vacuum the java moss debris every week.
Result

In about 6 weeks, your planted moss would be ready for harvest and it is simple cut small pieces to propagate it.
